Root Canals in Metairie LA

Root Canals | Oak Family Dental

Unfortunately, root canal treatment has a pretty bad reputation. In fact, it's really no surprise that they are one of the most dreaded of all dental procedures. But we’d like you to know that our efficient and gentle approach will make your root canal treatment at Oak Family Dental the least stressful you’ve ever had.

Experienced, Friendly Patient Care

Experience counts, and our professional team has performed many successful stress-free root canals over the years. Our approach to patient care is to form lasting bonds with our patients based on trust and respect for your concerns. We’ll make sure that you understand your procedure and why it’s necessary for your oral health.

We’ve created a beautiful office setting that is calm and welcoming, and our team will go out of their way to make you feel like a valued member of our family. Visiting the dentist for any treatment can be stressful, but you can be confident that our team focuses completely on you and your needs.

Root Canals Save Teeth

If you or someone you know has had an infected root canal, you know it can be a painful experience. Any type of intense pain in a tooth is a sign that something serious is going on and needs to be addressed immediately.

Deep inside of each of your teeth are blood vessels, tissue, and nerves. Damage to the tooth caused by injury or decay can cause this part of your tooth to become infected.

When this occurs, we’ll gently clear away the damaged tissue, then cleanse and seal the tooth. After the procedure, we will usually recommend a dental crown to protect and strengthen the tooth.

Your Comfort is Our Priority

Anticipating a root canal can be stressful for anyone. But we think you’ll be amazed at the difference our effective sedation solutions can make to your treatment. Just knowing that you can drift off during your procedure can make your root canal seem much less intimidating.

Nitrous oxide is a type of sedation that is safe and effective, and will quickly put you in a very relaxed state. You’ll be conscious, but the activity around you seems to fade away, allowing you to remain calm during treatment.

Oral sedation is another good choice, especially if you experience greater anxiety. We’ll prescribe a sedative for you to take before your appointment so you’ll already be relaxed when you arrive at our office. Remember, however, that you will need a designated driver to get you to and from your appointment.

Trust an Experienced Team

When you’re with us, you can be confident that your care is in the hands of highly experienced professionals. We’ve been providing patients in the Metairie area with high quality, gentle care for over 30 years, and we’re experts at keeping you calm and comfortable.

If you suspect you may need a root canal, please contact our office as soon as possible to arrange an appointment. If you’re already in pain, please call and we’ll make arrangements to see you as quickly as possible – usually the same day.
