Yes! We currently offer custom take-home bleaching trays. Take-home teeth whitening allows you to whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home and whenever you want. We have found this type of bleaching works the best, and patients do not experience post-bleaching sensitivity.
Teeth Whitening Process
First, we will take custom impressions of your top and bottom teeth, next trays specifically for your teeth will be made. We will give you the bleaching gel that is will lighten your teeth. This gel is then dispensed into the trays evenly, making sure that you don't use too much. We recommend patients wear the trays 1 hour per day. It typically takes about two weeks for optimal results, and touch-ups can be done as frequently as you wish.
If you have recently whitened your teeth or you are thinking of whitening your teeth to improve the appearance of your smile, you might be wondering about the investment in professional teeth whitening and how long your results will last.
At Oak Family Dental, we offer both in-office and take-home teeth whitening to meet your needs. Both methods of teeth whitening provide great results. How long those results will last depends upon you and your lifestyle habits.
Drinking coffee, using tobacco, and drinking red wine can all stain your teeth more quickly than for people who do not have these habits. Foods, especially colorful ones like curry, berries, and beets, can also stain your teeth over time.
After Professional Teeth Whitening
Once you professionally whiten your teeth, you can touch-up your smile, as needed using your custom whitening trays. If you run out of whitening gel, we have additional gel available in our office. Most patients opt to touch up their teeth every six months to a year, but if you choose to do so more often, right after your dental hygiene appointment is a great time to get the best results.
