"From the moment I walked into the door I felt as though I was the most important person in the room. I was waited on promptly. The dentist came in to greet me and to make sure he wasn’t needed. My dental hygienist was wonderful and caring. She did a great job on my cleaning and took the time to provide future dental advice. Great atmosphere!" -Deborah P.

Starting Monday April 27, 2020, as directed bye the Louisiana Department of Health, dentists can begin "time-sensitive" procedures in addition to emergency care.  Every patient will be evaluated case by case by one of our doctors to determine if treatment is warranted at this time. If you have an area in your mouth that you are concerned with, or outstanding treatment you are worried about please call our office and your case will be reviewed with you over the phone to determine if a visit is necessary at this time.

At Oak Family Dental the health and safety of our patients and staff is our number one priority.  To ensure everyone's health and safety we have implemented some changes over the past few weeks. We have upgraded our air condition units to contain top of the line filters as well as ultraviolet lights.  The ultraviolet light kills microbes, including viruses, mold, bacteria, fungi, mildew and mold spores, so they cannot be recirculated through the air conditioning.  We have, and always will follow CDC and OSHA guidelines in regards to sterilization of our instruments and the disinfection of our rooms.  We only use top of the line, CDC and OSHA approved cleaning supplies.

At this time we ask that every patient have an appointment.  Walk ins will not be able to be seen because we need to prepare for your visit to ensure everyone's safety.  Please call ahead to make an appointment.  We will try our best to see you the day you call if you have an emergency.

-Prior to your appointment every patient will be screened via telephone or a text message monitoring system for any symptoms related to COVID-19 or other illnesses.

-Upon arrival to the office we ask that you call the office prior to entering.

-We ask that anyone entering the office wear a face cloth or mask. Please provide your own

-A staff member, wearing a mask will greet you at the front porch prior to entering the office where your temperature will be taken.  Anyone with a temperature over 99 degrees Fahrenheit will be reschedule and not allowed to enter the office.

-Only patients receiving treatment will be allowed in the office with the exception of minors.  A minor is allowed one guarding who will be required to wait in the waiting room.  The guardian will also be screened and temperature taken.

-A  COVID-19 Pandemic Emergency Dental Treatment Notice and Acknowledgement of Risk Form as well as a COVID-19 Patient Disclosure Form will be signed by all patients prior to treatment.

-Everyone will be required to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building

-Our waiting room has been rearranged to ensure social distancing between patients.

-All of our staff will have their temperature taken twice a day and will undergo the same screening process as patients.

-All staff will wear a mask at all time while in our office.

-During treatment, staff members will be wearing more  Personal Protective Equipment than you are accustomed to, which will be standard of practice during these times.

-All patients will do a pre-treatment hydrogen peroxide rinse

-A rubber damn or isolight will be used in most treatments to reduce the amount of aerosols produced

We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation during this time!

If you or anyone you know have lost your dental insurance at this time please ask us about our Oak Family Dental Membership Plan. We understand this is a trying time for everyone and will do our best to make necessary dental care affordable to our patients.
