"From the moment I walked into the door I felt as though I was the most important person in the room. I was waited on promptly. The dentist came in to greet me and to make sure he wasn’t needed. My dental hygienist was wonderful and caring. She did a great job on my cleaning and took the time to provide future dental advice. Great atmosphere!" -Deborah P.

A woman points to her smile | Teeth Whitening in Metairie

Whitening your teeth is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve your smile. It can be done quickly and it can take years off of your appearance. Depending on how fast you need results, teeth whitening in Metairie, LA can be completed in a couple of weeks or even less than an hour. Here's more information on how teeth whitening works.

Take-Home Trays

If you want to whiten your teeth at home based on your own schedule, then take-home trays are the best option for you. Our Oak Family Dental team will take impressions of your teeth and make custom plastic trays that will fit snugly against your teeth and protect your cheeks and gum tissue from excess whitening gel. One of our doctors will meet with you to determine the right strength whitening gel that will best suit your needs. Initially, you'll want to whiten for about two weeks to achieve your desired results, but the great thing about take-home whitening trays is that you'll be able to update your smile anytime you like.

In-Office Whitening

If you have a big event coming up, or you just need quicker results, then in-office whitening is the right option for you. During one short appointment in our office, we'll apply a high strength whitening gel that will produce immediate results. Most patients leave our office with teeth that are six to eight shades lighter.

Professional Whitening vs Over-the-Counter

It may seem more cost effective to purchase a whitening system from the grocery store, however a professional whitening system offers many benefits that over-the-counter options do not. Professional whitening can achieve more effective results because the whitening gel that your Oak Family Dental team has access to is much stronger than what you can purchase over the counter, which means that you'll see results more quickly with professional whitening. It's also much safer whitening under the supervision of your dentist in case you experience any issues with sensitivity.
