Are digital x-rays safe?
Drs. Patterson uses digital dental x-rays to diagnose many dental problems. An accurate diagnosis allows for proper dental treatment. You will typically have one set of x-rays per year unless you have a problem that warrants additional x-rays. The number of x-rays will vary based on age, how long it has been since your last x-rays, and how much dental work you have had. Digital dental x-rays have drastically reduced the amount of radiation. In fact, you are exposed to more radiation on some airplane rides than you are with a full mouth set of x-rays.
